Good lingerie is not just smaller clothing. It has a job to do.

• Check the band first. Most support comes from there, not from overtightened straps.
• For swimwear, look for secure cups and fabric that keeps its shape when wet.
• For nightwear, choose fabric and seams you can actually sleep in.
