There’s definitely a Jolly Rancher watermelon vibe to this new shimmer hit lip oil both in flavour and colour. I love the transparency of it and the moderate glimmer, rather than looking glittery as such, gives it such a summery lift.
It’s called Juicy Splash of Shimmer and that feels perfectly appropriate because that’s what you get! The beauty of lip oils is that they’re never sticky – or shouldn’t be – so they have a more compatible feel with the lip skin.
A shout out for the applicator as well please – the same sumptuous size as Dior and Clarins lip oils so that the application feels cushiony and luxurious. The formula, as well as containing Vitamin E, also contains watermelon extracts. I think for £8, the e.l.f. Jelly Pop Lip Oil in Juicy Splash of Summer is a very easy way to brighten your summer lip without breaking the bank – my caveat is whether you can tolerate the watermelon scent. It wears off (or your nose gets used to it) after a little while but every reapplication brings it back in spades!
