I’ve been waiting for ages for Trish McEvoy Soothe & Illuminate Cream to come back into stock, so if you decide you like the sound of it, shop sooner rather than later.
First thing I need to say is that you do not get a lot – 30ml – it’s a very big pot for a small amount of product. However, it is 30ml of genius that personally I think should be used on bare skin because it makes it so beautiful and radiant but I have tried it with a very, very light tint over the top and it works that way too. I tried it with Chanel Water Tint which made for the dream team (by the way, Sephora has plenty of stock and this stuff sells and sells in the summer so if you need a top up, now is the time) but when my tone is warmer I’d very happily wear Soothe & Illuminate alone.
This is a bleary, early morning, just got up shot (gosh, can you image me feeling happy to do this even a couple of years ago!) but hopefully you can see the radiance that Soothe & Illuminate gives – there’s nothing else on my skin at this point. It gives a gently complexion – not shiny and not sparkly – and it’s only properly apparent in the light. I caught myself in a mirror with a beam of sunlight yesterday and wow!

That’s the swatch on my (very goosebumpy) arm which was freezing at 8am in my kitchen! But you can see the pearl blend lustre. In terms of ingredients, Trish McEvoy Soothe & Illuminate Cream is green tea, willow bark and bisabolol which are all good players in terms of soothing redness (hence soothe in the name).
If you need something tucked by for special occasion skin, it’s a big recommend for me. Personally, I’d like to see it in a tube rather than a pot just for ease of use, travel, etc, but it’s really a very special product. It’s £68 so would always live in ‘treat’ territory for me but Soothe & Illuminate really is effective, flattering and reviving.
